Process of How to Play the Auction

Cricwars has two types of Auction Fantasy:

  • Player Auction - An auction where you bid on a single player at a given point of time.
  • Team Auction - An auction where you bid on a full team at a given point of time.

There are three stages of Auction Fantasy:

Pre-Auction

Pre-Auction is a stage where you join the auction and strategize until the commencement of the Live Auction using Cricwars online platform. In this stage, you can shortlist the players you would like to bid for during the Live Auction, by adding them to your Watchlist. You can add or remove the players from your Watchlist as many times as you want before the Live Auction starts.

Live Auction

  • Live Player Auction
In the Live Player Auction, a player will be displayed on your platform and all the team owners (auction participants) may begin bidding for the player. There is a 45 second timer to bid for every player. This timer resets to 45 seconds each time a participant increases the bid value. If a participant increases the bid value after the timer has dropped below 15 seconds, then the timer resets to 15 seconds and not 45 seconds. The player is drafted in a particular squad when there is a single highest bidder and the time has lapsed. Alternatively, a player can go unsold if all participants “Pass” that player or none of the participant bids for that player until the timer has passed. There will be two rounds of auction for Unsold Players which takes place once all players have been displayed.

  • Live Team Auction
In the Live Team Auction, an entire team will be displayed. All auction participants may start bidding for the players in that team. There will be a timer set for each team auction, for example, 30 mins/ 1hr/ 3hrs/ 6hrs etc. per team. At the expiry of this timer, the participants who are holding the highest bid for a respective player, will have those players drafted accordingly in their respective squads. If no player has been bid, they will go as Unsold and all Unsold players will be set up for auction once more.

  • There are 4 user elements available while bidding for a player. These are as follows:
    • BID - If you would like to increase the bidding value of a particular player, you need to click on Bid.

    • AUTO-BID - In auto bid, you can directly set the bid value to the value you would like to buy a particular player for, subject to the maximum value that you can bid for a particular player. By using Auto-Bid, the user does not have to keep clicking the “BID” button. Once auto bid is set, the system automatically keeps increasing the bid value until it reaches the value of Auto-Bid that you have set.

    • RAISE - By clicking on Raise, you directly raise the bid value of the current player to the value that you would like to raise it to, subject to the maximum value that you can bid for a particular player.

    • PASS - You can Pass a Player’s bid using this “Pass” tab. This tab will be active only if none of the participants has bid on the player. Even if one participant bids on a player, the Pass tab will be disabled. (There is no Pass tab in Live Team Auction).

  • During the Live Auction, you may view all analytical data required to strategize such as:
    • Total purse at disposal for Auction
    • How many players have I bought in total or per team or per role
    • How much is the average value to bid per player
    • How much is the maximum bid I set to buy the current player
    • Other participants teams, purse spent & left, etc.

Post Auction

Post Auction is a stage where you can follow the real match scores and track your Auction Fantasy Scorecard, your Ranking, Performance of your players as well as other participants’ players, etc.
